Denny Kurien, President & CEO of Keiretsu Forum chapters in Delhi-NCR and Bangalore, has more than 25 years of experience in media, investing and entrepreneurship. Denny started his association with Keiretsu Forum as the Member Director at Keiretsu Forum Chennai and Singapore, enlisting the network’s early members there and helping launch the first India chapter.
In 2015, he moved to Bangalore, to open the second India chapter for the Forum and currently heads the Delhi-NCR and Bangalore chapters, covering the two most active centers for innovation and early-stage funding in India.
Prior to that, Denny has been a business journalist in India and Southeast Asia for two decades, managing teams across geographies and cultures for multiple media organizations such as Financial Express, Business Standard, Dow Jones Newswires and The Wall Street Journal.
After 16 years with Dow Jones/Wall Street Journal in various capacities, including as Managing Editor (Commodities) for Asia-Pacific, based in Singapore, Denny returned to India in late 2012 to become a full-time entrepreneur through two separate ventures, one involved in retail and the other in financial services. He continues to be a leading investor in them and serves on the boards of both the companies.
Denny holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the National University of Singapore. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Communication and Journalism as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Kerala, India.
